This photograph was made at the Painted Desert in Arizona, on a Route 66 road trip. This ancient landscape glows with beauty, and especially at sunset. September is monsoon season in this area, and during that time thunderstorms are common, which means there's usually lightning somewhere on the horizon, and dramatic clouds. It's what I live for as a photographer, and it makes all of the mosquito bites worth it! ;)
